How can it be an S1 then ?
Oh , oh, gordian knot !

The one to the left is NOT S1 as the gator was not tightly sleeping.

The question was, whether these are sleeping good enough for a sell :

or

I would take a trade when gator's are like those, the 2nd and 3rd picture, as I said in my previous reply, but I will take it in the direction of trend. And Entries are made on fRactal breakouts so I want the Fractal level to be atleast below red line of m5 or at least below blue line of current time frame.

Immy, please look at my picture of 5:17 pm. This is exactly the one to the left and I asked you whether it's S1 and you answered : Yes it's S1 !!!!!!!!!!!

Finally : The whole discussion shows me, that there stays much room for interpretation in the setup rules and everybody is asked to find his/her own way. I was looking whether I misinterpreted something systematically, which seems not to be the case.
Thanks for your effort Immy

Bettina

btw : The second example is the one, where you said at 5:45 pm : Yes, it's an S1 setup ( or dot setup )
and at 7:46 p.m. "The one to the left is NOT S1 as the gator was not tightly sleeping."
Now, it's a setup again ? (hug)

The one in the picture, I remember quite clearly how I saw it just before news. It is a Dot setup. I would have taken it because I'd be trying to get into a 5th wave.
That clarifies a lot.
I never, never would have thought this could be a S1 setup.
- Box not tight
- gator crossing in the box, but not obviously sleeping, open to the wrong side at dot time
- AO not close to ZL

The reason why I ask is : I had that several times. Whenever I try to follow all rules on M1 and M5, I don't get one single trade, because I don't understand the rules or they very rarely are valid.
If I trade, as I would interprete them, I have nothing but rents.

1 ) What is sleeping ?
- You said : Not open. When ? At the beginning of the box ? at dot time ? at possible break of the box ? Opening at dot time irrelevant ?
2 ) What is close to ZL ( if not Steve's colours ) ????? ( In the picture of the last EU M5, AO is blue and not yellow )
3 ) What is tight ? You don't regard everything below 15 as tight, do you ?
4 ) Still not sure about M5 needs ?
( See question in last post )

Bettina
In this post above, you thought I said that the eu setup was an S1 setup. I actually said, it was just a dot setup, meaning gator was probably not correct by that there was a dot and based on previous wave 3, it was easier for me to take short plus AIMS level was below all three lines. So , again, that EU setup at news time was NOT a proper S1. A Proper S1 is where Gator is tightly sleeping with purple somewhere near or inside the box and the box is tight and has remained sleeping for some time so AO is flat on the zero line. A Saddle Point!

I hope this helps!

No, it cannot be like this. If it were like this, I'd be a Religious Prophet because the books they bring are in most cases open to interpretation. (rofl)

The Setup has to be objective. I'm not just saying that it is. It has to be. By the law of trading the Entry Setup is the only Objective thing you need to have. And it has to be that way. And I blieve the Setup with its 3 rules and/or the flow chart is as objective as it can be.

cheers

This discussion is not over. Because if we don't get this right, we cannot proceed further. If we do not agree on the Entry Setup, we cannot make an entry. And it has to be crystal clear. If we don't get the entry setup right, which is only 5% of successful trading but even though its only 5% its like the essential door key to enter the palace. So it cannot be open to interpretation. It cannot be overly subjective. It must be objective so we can "objectively" idetify it, without rationalizations, justifications or building cases. If that is not the case then we wont be able to act upon our setup without hesitation or reservation. And if that happens we will never get into the zone, we will never develop self trust and auto-magical trading will never begin. We want to get this simple thing RIGHT!

Dot, Sleeping Gator inside BOX, AO freshly crossed or close to ZL. and Bang!
