Help a newbie please.

Unread post by fadaid »

Hi,
Can someone please help me, why is my aims wave always yellow. I hardly have any green or red bars.

I would also like to know how many yellow aims bars are considered as "old".

what does "is the purple line correct" mean in the flow chart. Does it mean the direction of the flow chart or does it mean the price going away from the flow chart.

Thanks You

Hi Fadaid, let’s see if I can help you out.
The yellow setting on the AIMS wave is variable, I think by default it’s set to 0.0006 but you can change that to whatever you want. The idea is that when the wave is yellow then it can be considered as close to zero, but in a very low volume/low volatility market it might always be yellow and in a high volume/high volatility market it might rarely be yellow. So the first question I’d ask is, what time of day are you looking at the yellow wave? If it’s after US close but before Asia open, or during any other quieter time, then I’m not surprised it’s always yellow. Anyway, only use the colour as an indication of close to zero. As for an old wave, this more refers to time since the most recent zero line cross rather than the number of bars of a certain colour. My advice for the AIMS wave is to focus less on the colour and more on the direction. Time your entries with a fresh cross of the zero line when the wave is also moving in the direction of your entry.
As for the purple line, just always trade away from it. The purple line is the red line of the 5 x higher time frame, so by asking “is the purple line correct”, we’re making sure we’re trading away from the alligator’s mouth on the 5 x higher time frame.
Good luck!
