I thought I could escape it this week, but a collegue is sick, so now I need to go.
Meaning: only work laptop and no trading

 

Don't worry about it. In trading, money can be made with just 3% per month profits. and you can easily catch 3% profits even if you miss a couple of days a week. 

Meanwhile, forget about the M15 or M5 entries. I thought about it from multiple points of view and I always come to this conclusion. At the end of the day, if you drop to m5, you are trading the M5 chart. And trading M5 is a Day Trading Time frame, and not a swing trading time frame. 

Instead of that, I can incread my entries by adding limit orders on Seeds and BOX levels.

Someone was bugging me about some candle times and how to check the hourly charts for signals once per hour for 8-10 hrs a day. 

The question was, at what time do you check the 10:00 candle on the hourly chart? 

As the discussion went by I realised that some people might be getting this wrong as well. 

So I thought why not make a post about it. 

When do you see the 17.00 Candle on the Chart, is it 17:00? (You'd deduct 2 hrs from that if you were in the UK ie. as your local time difference says )

Suppose you are in the UK, that means, it will be the 15:00 or 3 PM Candle Right? And is that the time you'll check it? 

WRONG. 

In practice the 17.00 Candle on the MT4 Chart, is not 17.00 nor is it 15:00, it is actually the 16:00 or 4 PM candle for UK time. 

Because you will only get to see the CLOSE and Hence a Signal until the Close of the 17:00 candle  or 10:00 candle which will be 3 pm or 9 am respectively in the UK.

In most European countries the 10:00 candle on the H1, will not be the 9:00 rather it will be a 10 am candle.

Today there are some big news for the US market, The CPI: Consumer Price Index, in other words, INFLATION. 


This figure will show if the recent rise of interest rates have had any effect on the inflation figures. Any shock will shake the market.

just to clarify.
only use it when you missed the signal, you were late.

Situation where we have a Seed and a box low. (like yesterday when we wanted to sell)
Price is in between low of that Seed and Box low.
Then you have a choice: put a limit sell order on the Seed, or put a pending Sell order on the break of the box, or do you wait for a candle close below the Box and then put a limit sell order on that Box low level?

It's obvious as price has already passed the Box low, then you can put a limit sell on the Box low.

they took the price up, to catch those STOP losses in all of those 100 stocks ... then it tanks .. big gap
