Immy,
Sorry for posting here but the Q/A wont let me post there and I'm hoping some members may have solved this problem in the past.
On previous MT4 build 225 my email alert worked fine, I forgot to write down the exact settings and after upgrading to build 409 cant get it to send emails anymore. I rely on the Aims alerts when at work and this is very frustrating and yet probably something simple, I notice they now have build 416 maybe I should try that, any suggestions?? Bear in mind I'm in AUS so smtp settings and the like can be very different to what you guys would use.
thanks
kooky

I have moved your question to the support section. Unfortunately as a Basic member you only get read only access to Question and Answer Section however you can raise support issues in the support section. Firstly, you need to upgrade one more time, the latest build is 416 and its much more stable and more compatible with Win 7 and other newer OS. Secondly the settings for email are very simple but you need to know your smtp settings for that and the email address and password.
Here is a picture of my settings.
