No Sounds - Only The Chime

Unread post by immy »

engenee wrote:I understand. I wanted to wait until the weekend to try the solutions about me sound problems that I read on the forum. I completely re-installed MetaTrader 4 and re-installed iTradeAims v5, today. I'm still not getting any voice alerts. I deleted all other sounds in my sound folder to no avail. I'm only getting the chime.

I am using Windows 8 with a 64-bit processor. Have you any suggestions?
Hi
Make sure you have selected only one option for alerts. It should be either Voice Alert or Pop Up Alert as in the picture attached.

I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.

Immy, I have done that. I also changed the suffix to EURUSD. since MBTrading uses a period at the end of the pair description. I have read every post on the subject, but still, I have no sound. If there is something that I am missing, I don't know what it is. Could it possibly be something in Windows8 causing the problem?

That could be the possibility but I don't dare installing windows 8 on my trading pc. I'll keep my 7 as long as it works but thats me. I have however heard from some other MT4 users that they had difficulty on windows 8.

Having said that, are you use you have the correct sound files installed? Does window eight allow you to choose the correct installation folder during the installation process of V5.0? If it does, have you selected the correct MT4 folder? By default it will create a new folder by the name of Alpari Meta trader 4 or something like that. Can you go to the root directory of your MT4 platform and check if the sound files are present in the correct folder?

???

Moreover, I just noticed, I noticed you changed suffix to EUR/USD. You need to enter the values that come after EUR/USD that your broker uses. E.g if its EUR/USDSB (GKFX uses this suffix to differentiate that it is actually a Spread Betting Quote). In the e xample of GKFX you'd put SB in the Suffix area. have you tried that, have you done this correctly? I don't think windows eight should have a problem at all.
