I have not been here for a long time because I was frustrated not getting this and yet seeing the trades on my charts after they were on there way. I tried to find a way that I might understand even though I new that aims works I was not getting it. I have been trying to trade without much success anyway the platform that I was on closed my account and would not give me a reason as to why. They sent me a reason but it said nothing except that it was not my concern and my account is closed. So I lost all my indicators and I am not very good with downloading things and I can not get aims back on my charts. I always had aims up and I went back on the site this weekend trying to get aims back and I can not. I have been to the Q and A page but I can not get aims from my c drive to my charts could someone please tell me how to load aims back onto my charts. I have been reading and it seems v6.1 is no longer used and Immy wrote in one message that you really only need v5.1 and I think s1/s2 I think not sure really confused . Could someone please tell me how to get going again so I can try to make some pips. I am missing something and I very much need to find it.I am going to be reading on the site much more hopefully something will click. I have posted good chart set ups in the past I see them after but have a hard time seeing them as they develop. I am sure I am missing something with the explanation of how to use the method. I have seen the video from the beginning of time and thought that I had it but wrong again. I am going to keep reading and I also found the post that Immy says to read 1000 times and do 10,000 times this form of troubleshooting is really time consuming. I have been trying all day to figure out how to get aims back and i can not.

I am similar to you where I have recently come back after some time elsewhere. The welcome back into the AIMSter community has been fantastic and my enthusiasm is completely renewed after a less than ideal experience from where I was after I left AIMS a year and a half ago.

I was similar to you with having to upload the indicators fresh. Remember that we are using MT4 Build 600 now, so the locations for the templates/indis are different now and you have to account for that as well.

The process is still just the same, which is posted at http://itradeaims.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=4. Run through that and upload the templates/indi's etc, but instead of installing in program files/mt4/pepperstone (or whatever your broker is), it is in

C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\6265233E83A805EEB3D074DDB8F31B53
where:

С: - name of system disk;
Users \User_account_name \- user's account for working in Windows;
AppData\Roaming \ - hidden folders within Vista and later Windows where application data is stored
Instance_id - unique name of the folder where the entire user's data for working with a certain copy of MetaTrader 4 terminal is stored.

Thank you Kyle I did download the installation guide but I could not get it in my meta trader 4 platform. I called Oanda the new company that I am with and Greg helped me. I had v5.1 in a folder and I knew it was in the folder but I could not get it onto my platform. I now have version 5.1 m1 and version 5.1 m5 version m1 gives me colored dots 5.1 m5 does not have dots. The aims version I had been trying to use had dots everywhere it was version 6.1 which I think is not used anymore. I am sure my understanding of aims has been wrong so I need to figure out what I was doing wrong. I am going to read about these versions and go through the website to see what I can find out. Also my fractal box's were much darker on the aims version I was using before and I guess that's because of the version it was. Thank you again for responding and it took me so long to answer because Sunday night I was fed up. I went to bed at 7:00 which is about 4 hrs early. This morning when I woke up the day started and I was on the phone with Oanda taking baby to school taking trash out etc. LIFE I have been trying to get this market since 2003 and have lost a ton of money and when I found aims i was thrilled and when I was not getting it back to looking. I always had aims on my charts and I would see the moves but something I was doing while looking was/is wrong because I get into loosing trades. I have had good days but more bad that good I know this works just need to find the missing piece before I loose everything. This is how I am going to make my money to pay my bills and I truly thought I had it months ago anyway thank you very much for the time you took to help me.

Don't feel overwhelmed, Jim. Don't let the few different templates or chart setups confuse you or get you down. The Setup is still The Setup and that hasn't changed and won't change. As Immy would say, it is the structure of the market.
So long as your chart has AIMS boxes, the alligator, AIMS entry alerts (dots) and eWave then you don't need to look any further. Set up your M1 and M5 charts on EURUSD only (although at this moment the DAX has been providing better setups as EURUSD volume is down, but The Setup is still The Setup) and put them side by side and trade nothing but S1 and S2. Let M5 show you a clear trend (a freshly opening alligator, a fresh cross of eWave) and take M1 setups away from purple and all will be well!
There are hundreds of trade photos available in this forum. Print them, study them, observe how the same pattern is repeated over and over again and if you don't see that same familiar pattern in front of you then don't trade. I've added a couple photos here for you that I keep on my phone and look at regularly!

Thank you Dave and Sam very much and I will. This always seems easy and clear until I start trading and then everything goes to S but what is so frustrating is that this does not look hard and yet here I am or am not lol. I still have my sense of humor even broke )

Hi Jim,
I agree totally with the other guys with the premium membership, it is not that much in the scheme of things and really will help. Also agree with the setup being the setup. The templates are simply how other people set their mt4 up, and you would also find many others put their own personality on them as well.
Have a good read of others' posts, especially Grant and Immy and they will help you in setting up and understanding of AIMS.
Be optimistic about starting to become consistent, with consistency comes profits. I have had a very similar journey to you and created quite a drawdown from a previous method. Just don't think it will all happen overnight, and become comfortable with the method, then move to small risk positions after you feel you have the method sorted.
