Am I Going Mad?
I have decided to have a look at the DA chart setup that everyone appears to be using. I have my demo chart all setup and all looks okay. Trouble is I have no idea what the blue, red and yellow arrows actually mean (other than they are confirmation of higher timeframe trends).
I have read various posts, watched videos etc. but have not seen any reference to what the arrows actually mean. I am sure that somewhere on here is the information I am looking for, however, after almost 3 hours of searching I have decided to ask for help.
Will some kind person please point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Richard

Re: Am I Going Mad?
Hi Richard, I share the pain
I'm using the latest templates that were available and those contain double arrows. What makes me wonder that sometimes M5 trend is confirmed and still M1 shows just a dot without double arrow - I understood that in that scenario it should be DA in M1. Anyway, I'm checking all dots and don't give much attention to DA as such.
Another thing is that I saw a situation where charts were showing couple of red dots but after switching between profiles the red dots disappeared and those were not drawn anymore. That I couldn't understand.
You asked for help.............which I didn't give, sorry

the arrows look for a Setup 1. Small arrow, the alligator is (or was recently) asleep, higher timeframe awake; large yellow arrow, ditto but alligator awake on higher-higher timeframe.
Did that help?
cheers

You're not going mad. [-x 8-} I can understand your feeling ~x( let me clarify.
You've actually answered you're query up there. " other than they are confirmation of higher timeframe trends". The DA's are DOTS with Confirmed of a. One step higher time frame trend confirmation = Red/Blue Small Arrows. b. two steps higher time frame trends = Yellow Arrows. When trend on both time frames is confirmed you see Double Arrows hence the concept of DA.

post some pics and we can discuss why the DA didn't appear.
Dots disappearing after a refresh - this was discussed when I posted the Alert 5.x - it's down to testing of the cross of green line on the current bar. If price closes back over the green line (or is effectively rejected by the line) the dot will disappear on the refresh of charts. With the Setup 1 indi, we have an option to test on current or previous bar - default is previous, which should remove the refresh issue of signals disappearing.

Checking all the dots is the best way forward. Specially in order to learn the concept of the Dots. If you don't understand the concept of the dots and how to trade S1 using Dots, DA's won't help that much. Having said that if you visually see that trend is confirmed on higher time frame and you think there should be a DA please take a picture and post it somewhere with a question. I'm sure Steve, I or someone else will come up with explanation. In case of Dots disappearing it must have been a repaint which happens only rarely. I hardly come across any repaint these days. (THE DA is my Bread and Butter, but I can live without it) It seems that our attempts to simplify things so that the newbie's job gets easier counter-acts. I wonder why!

Edit: I guess Steve beats me to it again. LOL (rofl)

Re: Am I Going Mad?
Hi Steve, Immy
No worries, you are doing excellent work! As I check all the dots anyway I didn't record "my DA problem" to journal and just remember there was such. If it comes again I'll take a pic. I'm sure it's just an interpretation issue in my head or some other mismatch in that time in the brains
Kind regards
Tomi

Re: Am I Going Mad?
Thanks for your replys.
I have the default settings in the 'Aims Setup 1 Beta01' indicator.
M1 next TF 5
M5 next TF 15
M15 next TF 60
M30 next TF 240
H1 next TF 240
H4 next 1440
D1 next 10080
W1 next 43200
Just so I have this clear on M1 chart the red/blue arrow is referring to M5 and the yellow to M15.
On a H1 chart the red/blue arrow is referring to H4 and the yellow to D1.
Thanks
Richard
