I have been trading on H1 and making profits.

Hi

If it has come to this, if I were you this is what I'd do.

I would put the Funded Account on a pause. (I will only take a trade once a week, just to keep it active, a small one).

I would start trading the 5 Minute chart. Using the same strategy. The 5 Minute chart, will give you 1:5 winners.

But if I were to be VERY honest, then I'd say, you know what, H1 has an EDGE that is 10X better than m1 or m5 combined.

All you would need is check charts top of the hour for the first 2-3 hours. If you're living off trading, if you're at home and can dedicate time, then you are fortunate enough to enjoy a BEAUTIFUL life. My life is beautiful. I'm getting bored all day, and every now and then I get a trade that makes me $10,000. Once I have one good trade a month, I'm chilling the rest of the month being VERY VERY choosy.

hope this helps.

Hi Immy!

I am happy to hear from you! :)
Thank you for your honest and kind advise.
I am still thinking about what to do.

One thing for sure is that i will make less trades on M1. How.. time will tell...

A life with just trading H1 sounds too good to be true. I am very glad that you live the best life :hug
I might get there too soon.

Nothing is on fire at the moment so i am taking it slow.

Cheers!!

The problem and the solution.

Unread post by eaxh »

To not think and just let the brain do its work WORKEDI

have it!

I know when my problems started!!!!
It was when i stopped trading from an S1 perspective and started to look for an impuls and pullback rather than having the structure/ context there first.
What happened is that i looked for impuls instead. And then when i saw an impuls with a proper pullback and signal that was successfull i stopped focus on the context.

And trading pullback rather than the S1 is in its raw form ”trading the HTF” so the place of the pullback became less and less important to me.

And now i can see, that is when it all started to go wrong.

Then i started to add all sorts of things to give the ”mess” some structure.
Like KC, HTF emas, and other emas.

It all ends up not working because i dont focus on the REAL market.
What it does is that it also gives too much opportunitys to get it wrong.
Too many situations that involves a decision to trade it or not when it should not even be a trade ( because of HTF  range or low volatility or whatever).

For my type of trading i NEED structure. I can not take a trade in a market thinking it will continue if no one else see some structure.
It is gambling.

What is the structure i need?

 1.       A Range- so it could be broken and possible retest or a pullback.
2.       A Setup 1- so i can take the original hunt setup.

 Thats it!

Is this a change in the plan? Well not really, just adding (going back) to the structure i have overlooked. To find some example of trades from structure i need to go back in my journal. Post the examples down here.

I have alot to work on. Or should i say UNDO alot of the work process as i have done it in the past and it worked like a charm.

no relevant news today.

I have lowered my size to a minimum so i am able to trade without fear of losing the account.
My original plan is to do it the batch out as i am in at the moment.

i am WITH ABSOLUTLEY NO DOUBT a better trader with the S1 perspective.

with that view trading is easy peasy lemonsqueesie.
There is no doubt with the clear rules.
I had the box when i was most profitable so why did i remove it.... Well it is here to stay.

When are the times i place a trade?
After a HTF pullback that have been broken.
After a BO out of a Tight range/ mess cleared.

Good move by brining back your trusted indicator back. I had also suffered through this when removing box especially after spending so many years with same template.

In regards to m1 performance, i agree with your approach and Immy's suggestion. When i started, i was too fixated with M15 time frame which brought majority of success in my trading career. i was trading M15 pretty much inline with H1 so unknowingly i was trading H1. Personally i have benefited from switching to H1 for many reasons - sustainability, less stress & screen time, rewarding, less noise and more EDGE. One of the main reason is it allows me to continue my full time job or trade while i am travelling or overseas.

Not advising you to change anything drastically but sharing my experience here, in case if you need to come up with Plane B. Good Luck, Stay focus and keep up the good work.

Thank you for the reply!
I have always loved trading M1 and i still do. But when i wasnt as profitable as i was before i knew something was wrong.
Now, the box is back and i am more or less trading the original hunt setup. I like it and there is less trades and more focus on hte context.
At the moment i have reduced the lotsize drastically to see how it works.
Slowly i will increase the size and see if i can pull it off.

I am trading H1 as well on the side and i have plans to try to get funded with that as well when time is right, i am in no rush.  :D
