immy wrote:Idea: i was wondering if we made combined journals and everyone had their post to it on a daily basis... hmmmm
Basicly I think it can be a great thing. For me personally, I have to keep an individual journal as well because it's my main trading documentation.
What I find a bit difficult sometimes is to orient myself time wise in other's screen shots if there is no reference point, i.e. time zone, time stamp of an event (LO, NYO,...), etc..., espacially if zoom factor is different.
Important as well is that as many traders as possible are keeping their journals up to date on a daily basis if they trade intra day ;-)

Screen time:
LO-session 9:15 - 10:30 (GMT+2) M1 DAX only - LIVE
Very low volatility in a range during first 90 minutes of LO session. Was able to catch some trades which ended in a small but good overall profit regarding to that low density market. So I'm happy and it was fun although bigger moves are even more fun ;-)

NEO-session 15:30 - 17:30 (GMT+2) M1 DAX only - LIVE
As my Internet connection was down in the morning I managed to find time for New York Equity Open.
Another low-volatility session. I'm definitely not used to those small movements like last sessions. In hindsight there are 2 options for me:
1. stay out of market completely until it starts moving
2. trade less aggressive and get out of trades earlier
Probably option 1 is the one to follow.
Trade 4/20-20:
Breakout after stepping up AIMS box. Setup and entry were ok but better entry was down-fruit before. I exited above AIMS with +/-0. Better solution here: trading from fruit to fruit with one add on would have paid + 15p.
Trade 5/20-20:
Missed that good up fruit so entered later at break of AIMS above red gator. Add on at next AIMS level. Instead of exiting at good down fruit with divergency which was a rather clear w5 of w3, I waited again for closing below gator but this time with some profit.
Trade 5a/20-20:
Was a hedging trade parallel to Trade 5/20-20. It is marked but not labelled on screen shot. It was a good counter fruit which simply failed and got exited at init SL with full rent.
Trade 6/20-20;
Although volatility and density was very small, DAX seemed to had found some structure (w3-w4) which gave me confidence to take that S1 into probable w5 and added on at an AA Fruit, both signals around 38.2% fib ret. Unfortunately it didn't go up further and hitted my SL by trailing AIMS levels with rent which wiped away profit of last trade.

When trading fruits we can be quite safe that we are trading with option 1 as fruits are shown after at least some sort of a move. But surely we don't know beforehand if the move continues or not. Option 2 sounds like that we plan to limit the profits But on choppy days many times option 2 would be perfect, but of course we don't know whether day will be a choppy or not before setting the pending order.

I came a bit late today but didn't miss anything exept of one rent probably at down fruit a few minutes past LO (not on screen shot). I was still a bit influenced of recent very low volatility sessions and was in a more protective mood than usual. Nevertheless I was ready to take good setups, like the fruit at 10:17 chart time which was =>
Trade 7/20-20:
Was some sort of AA Fruit regarding to point in the direction of M5 and H1. Had good angulation and small SL so didn't hasitate taking it although volatility was still rather low. Was more cautious than usual and was ready to close at next counter fruit with angulation. Fortunately no counter signal appeared at stage 1 and stage 2. Only small downer in hindsight here was that I didn't add on not even at break of previous swing-high. But anyway, DAX had finaly moved. I exited according to my main exit rule at green gator with some nice profit for a single entry trade.
Trade 8/20-20:
With previous trade I caught w3. Now it went into w4 with AO below ZL but it didn't retrace that much (hardly more than 23.6 %) so I was looking for an AA Fruit between 38.2% and 50% fib ret. It didn't happen but AIMS box tightened to less than 5p and red and green gator were crossing. All in all a lovely S1 into w5, IMHO, which I took gratefully. Aiming TZ1 as first target, I was expacting a clean move at least up to TZ1. Unfortunately, and according to one of our primary principles "anything can happen", it retraced deeply before it proceeded further, so I got kicked out at green gator during retrace with small profit.
Trade 9/20-20:
Still far enough from TZ1 there appeared a beautiful S2 with chance of reasonable R:R of nearly 1:2. Was clear to take and it went up without big counter movement. I was a bit lucky with exit because I had to leave and therefore I trailed candles right at the top of w5 which saved me some Pips but exiting below AIMS or green gater would have been ok as well.
In hindsight I probably should have added on at least with first fruit trade today but I was not able to shake off experience of recent sessions with low volatility as easily as I wanted to. But as I said before, at least it finaly moved ;-)

Haha, someone used add-ons and someone used only one entry, but the exit was superb. Liked your way also. Either way, juicy outcome Seems that recent weird market activity got both of us slightly to protective mode. Let's keep going and market will settle to its pure and clean form. The form we will trade like persistent bricks (or dicks) like to trade

We effect each other in the skype room! Its a good way though. Sometimes, it used to make me feel that it would hinder my performance but later I learned that the best effect it has is when you're out of synch and others are seeing things differently you soon get in tune. or at least you realise you're out of zone and either get back in it or take a break. So this morning the mood was a bit defensive!
Great trading... Michael is Objective, I am emotional! :o3 (hug) (wd)
