Re: The Fruit - A Counter Trend Strategy
I thought I would add this chart as it shows that sometimes a little discretion could be beneficial. The candle wasn't a Fruit candle, but only just!

Well if it did not go your way, then you'll be cursing yourself for "mis-creating" a setup. 8-} (rofl) A Setup is A Setup is A Setup!Darren wrote:I thought I would add this chart as it shows that sometimes a little discretion could be beneficial. The candle wasn't a Fruit candle, but only just!

Re: The Fruit - A Counter Trend Strategy
There was good angulation at the time of first signal. When first signal fails and then there is second its often more powerful. If you take the first and it does not go that way you must take the second as well, as the second one is often better. Yes the AO, eWave bars had lost momentum and was dropping but that also shows that price was not prepared to go further up, so it had to go 2 directions, either sideways or drop. It dropped.fxsam wrote:Nice trade immy. I am curious to know your reason for entry on this ucad trade because chart is telling me there was no angulation and price was close to green line from where it often bounce off. Sorry just want to clear my doubts.
Regards,
Sam

Re: The Fruit - A Counter Trend Strategy
Nice trade Immy. As a rule, I have been filtering the fruits that appear at the peak of W3, as I find it very difficult to pick whether we have arrived at the peak or not. I think I will start looking more closely at the fruits that appear in W3 where there is significant angulation in the price movement, and in particular where a second fruit appears. On a higher time frame, even catching a retracement of an impulse wave to the 23 or 32% Fib levels can be very profitable, if entered on the fruit candle.

Sorry too late to reply. I must have missed this one during my daily review of "unread posts". If you did not take it for a reason, its always ok. If you did not take it for "fear of losing" then its not correct. Time will teach you big time, if you are willing to learn!
HEre is a UJ Fruit I took earlier.

GU Fruits 17th march to 19th march 2014
Some examples of Fruits... hmmmm
Quite literally Fruit gives us these kind of entries
1. from a tight gator, price breaks out, and immediately creates a fruit ( a fake breakout that ends with Fruit) perhaps markets wants to go the opposite way, here, there is angulation but price is vertical whereas gator lines are horizontal
2. End of Wave 2 (in most cases you will spot it as wave 4 on lower time frame but for higher time frame it would be end of wave 2)
3. End/peak of Wave 4 i.e. start of wave 5 (could be as or part of no 2, or a genuine wave 4 of the current time frame)
4. Peak of wave 5. (again could be end of wave here on current time frame but on higher time frame it could be end of wave 1, or wave 3 or 5 or perhaps if you're lucky end of wave 2 or 4 in which case the next wave should be bigger than before)
