I have just setup a new computer and now I am getting lots of error messages every few seconds in my log file:
Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Darren\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\6757291BBE1793F2A78EDD4695819C20\MQL4\indicators\BW MFI.ex4' [2]
I know I have seen this BW MFI.ex4 error before and others have reported it but I cannot remember the solution and looking throught the forum did not give me any clues!
I remember that issue, but don't have such indicator in metatrader folders. Are you using setup 1 indicator/da alert? I'm using aims entry alert v5.1 and don't have such issue. Are you using some beta version of alert? AIMS Setup 1 v2 Advanced.zip seems to be the latest version.
Just throwing ideas...sorry if just messing around without any help.
I have removed the "Aims Setup 1 v2 Advanced" and that has solved the problem! I forgot I put that back onto my charts to see what it does a few days ago!
It would still be nice to know what I need to stop it happening in case I do want to use the Indi, any ideas anyone?
I had the idea to put the indicator into the file of other indicators (such as the AIMS setup)
So I downloaded MFI from https://www.mql5.com/en/code/7992 and put it into the file unfortunaly the same error message keeps occuring
Trading is a pattern recognition game. As traders we make decisions in an uncertain environment. Anything can happen. We trade the setups with the highest probility and reflect on our trades in samplesizes of 20. It is our job to keep our mind(s) focused, relaxed, enjoyed and to trust ourself in the proces of staying diciplined to our trading plan. We plan our trade and then trade our plan.
I also wrote Steve about this particular problem as I thought it was coming from one of his programs. It is nice to know what was causing the problem.
I hope you are not discouraging us from exploring older forums and commenting on them. I have learned a lot from others that have updated the comments in a topic I didn't know about. I have also made comments in older forums to bring the subject forward. It may be that older members "don't know what newer members don't know".
If one has a question, just ask. No matter if it's an old topic or not. The fact is that there are numerous indicators and versions around the forum. If people don't ask they might use deprecated versions. Regarding the original problem, I don't know what are the latest indicators for plain S1/S2 trading as I'm using plain seeds and fruits. At least bw mfi indicator is not needed and you should change indicator to get rid of the problem.
This glitch was hanging up my H8 charts and I am glad to know the fix!
I appreciate your openess and willingness to answer questions. Haven't had a chance to go through your journal but I will. Have you tried trading the H8's? I am limited on time and am looking for a way to get more trades with candle opens that conform to my my schedule. Here in the Pacific time zone my 8 hour candles open at 6am, 2pm and 10 pm. Still doesn't always help with the volatility of the London session.
