The Fruit - A Trend and Counter Trend Strategy
Note: This is the birth place of AIMS The Fruit Strategy. Before we prepared a pdf document for this method we only had it here in this thread. For Latest updated information refer to AIMS The Fruit eBook and Indicator package in the Fruit Section .
The Fruit is a bar/candle pattern that tells us that within that time period the buyers or the sellers won the battle. This is our early warning signal. It allows us to get into a new wave right at the start of it. The Risk is only 1 bar/candle and profit may be many more candles/bars plus add-ons.
This is a continuation of the Seed Topic. So I assume you have read The Seed Topic before reading this. As you might have read in the Seed Topic (Link Here) when a Seed grows into a tree or a plant, it bears flowers and fruit. We are interested in the flower or the fruit. But the plant or the tree does not bear a fruit or a flower until it is ready. It completes its own growth before it starts to blossom or bear fruit. The fruit or the flower is the mechanism for the plant or the tree to remain in the cycle. It grows off a seed, turns into a mature plant or tree and then it sheds its seeds via flowers or fruit so it can propagate, spread and consistently remain part of the system, the cycle. It plays its part, its role, in the the universe as a whole. Just like this analogy when the market is going sideways and creating a tight range, its creating a Seed. (A Seed of H1 is often a Tight Range on M5 Time frame, same is true for M15/M1 and other time frame combinations). When the time is right and the conditions are perfect a seed suddenly breaks ground with immense power and starts to grow. Our AIMS Setup 1 is exactly this. Aims Setup 1 on your current time frame is often 9 out of 10 times) a Seed on a certain higher time frame. When the time is right and the plant is fully grown it bears Fruit. This topic will introduce FRUIT to you. This is how we pick the start of the up coming big moves using information provided by just one candle/bar. Yes only one candle/bar can give us such powerful information. Keep reading.
Bigger Waves are Born out of Smaller Waves!
We know that waves consist of smaller degree waves. Its Wave within Waves within Waves. Thats clear to all of us by now. (I hope) Just like the Seed and Fruit analogy, waves are born off "tight consolidations" " tight ranges" (the seed) and then spring into beautiful expanding waves. The gator combined with AIMS boxes create a tight range and the lines of the gator remain tightly intertwined when there is no new incoming information. There is no new "energy" to activate something. The change in price up or down is due to change in the "Speed" and "Quantity" of information created per period of time. As this happens for a certain period of time, a certain higher time frame, expressed this situation, this information, in the form of a candle pattern called The Seed, aka Inside Bar. We call it The Seed, because the waves, the expanding growing waves, akin to a plant or tree, grow out of the seed, i.e. the sideways ranges. Markets really do only 2 things. They trend or they don't. A seed also does on two things, it either stays dormant or active. What is it that activates The Seed? Think about Jack and His Magic Beans? Don't you let it touch water. (btw, there is a new movie out based on this ancient story, Jack the Giant Slayer" hehe). The beans get activated as soon they touch water, and they grow so fast they break everything in its path. Such as trader's stop losses and may be their hearts and expectations. What is it that triggers it? The answer is "There is a change of Environment".
The Magic of Gator and The Fruit
The gator lines open up and continue to expand as long as the "tree keeps growing" or in other words, as long as the price continue creating higher highs in an up trend and lower lows in a down trend, the gator lines keep expanding and the distance between the three lines keep increasing proportionally. This happens until the consistent change is too hard to sustain and the market runs out of steam. There is a point in the time-space of the market that the money buying the currencies or selling it dries out. There are no more traders interested in buying or selling in that direction. A then something happens that gives us our entry signal. It is a pattern, a Candle and indicators pattern that tells us that during this period the buyers or the sellers were dominant. And that tells us that chances are that this new change of behaviour might continue and if it does, we may join them and benefit from the price move.
The Power of AIMS Wave (AO)
We know that the AO shows us Momentum of the market. The Gator is the Compass and the AIMS Box is the Structure of the Structure of the market. An open gator means impulse waves. Impulse waves are Wave 1, 3 or 5. We are interested in trading 3 and 5 but we may also be interested in all the other waves, because we never know whether the next wave is going to be the correct wave, as expected in the sequence or not. So we stay in the now and accept the current reality. At the End of any wave a whole new sequence of waves can begin. This is what makes Elliott Wave so interesting. There is freedom. Its not that its going to get stuck in a certain count. Markets is the expression of Freedom. So what you think is 3 up might be a completed wave sequence, since wave 3 is also formed of 5 waves from 1 to 5, at the end of wave 3, we can expect a reversal. A reversal can be a. just a corrective 4th wave, or it could be a start of a new impulse wave in the opposite direction. So whats certain, after a completed wave is that nothing is certain.
The AIMS Box
We know that between an upper AIMS level and a Lower AIMS Level there is always an Elliott Wave of a certain degree. You can check it for yourself. E.g. go to a daily chart. Mark upper aims level and lower aims level (opposing ones) and go to lower time frames, you may be able to count the elliott wave using AO quite accurately each time.
Waves have Tops or Bottoms?
The last few years have taught us that we can pick tops and bottoms of wave using our indicators. Understanding AIMS Wave or AO is key to this skill. But we have now made it pretty objective. Once you have an idea that this may be the peak of AIMS Wave, you can look for an entry technique. And that is The Fruit Candle or Bar Pattern. What we have found is that each Wave, almost 8 out 10 ends with a price pattern we call The Fruit. The Fruit Strategy, takes advantage of that price pattern.
What is The BDC: The Fruit Strategy, builds on The Seed Strategy. Just like the seed strategy where we use a certain Price Pattern known as Inside Bar, in The Fruit Strategy we take advantage of Price Pattern called BDC.
The Fruit Entry Candle/Bar Pattern is combination of several patterns otherwise known to traders with different names. But for the purpose of our Entry Technique you do not need to read into candle or bar patterns because there are so many of those candle and bar patterns you'll get confused. So bear with me hear, before you google it and read on.
This is a Two Candle Price Reversal Pattern. All waves end with
1. AIMS Level
2. A Bearish/Bullish Divergent Candle somewhere near the top.
A BDC may appear around the peak of Wave 1, bottom of Wave 2, once or twice within Wave 3 , then around Wave 4 and finally at the top of Wave 5. (We use eWave/AIMS Wave to analyse the waves within 1second)
A BDC might show at the End of any wave. But for us it has two most powerful uses
Use 1. Trend Continuation:
A BDC Appearing during Corrective Wave may spot the end of it. So you may Spot the End of Wave 2 or Wave 4.
Usually we see a Principle C around these areas
a. At the end of Wave 2.
Wave 2 is right before a good lovely Wave 3, and after a wave 1. A 1-2 formation is easy to spot and you can use AIMS levels to train your eyes to spot this. Once you know how to see 1-2's on your chart using AIMS levels and candles your trading will be different. We all want to trade Wave 3 and get the most out of it. With BDC/Principle Entries close to Blue line we will get in earlier in wave 3 and further use this technique to take more out of the Wave 3's.
BDC also appears at the end of Wave C of ABC during either of Wave 2 (abc) or Wave 4 (abc). We can also use this to get into a potential wave 5 using the end of Wave 4 BDC.
Use 2. Trend Reversal:
A BDC appearing during Impulse waves especially when price is stretched with angulation between price and gator lines marks reversal of trends. You may spot the Top of Wave 3 and Top of Wave 5 using BDC. The Fruit uses this technique to spot the top of waves even the top and bottom of Wave 2 and Wave 4.
Interesting Point: Targeting BDC at the end of Wave 2 and Wave 4 is also a sort of reversal of a wave since Wave 2 and 4 are also waves.
A Bullish Divergent Candle: It is a two candle pattern where your current candle to the right has
1. Low of the Current Candle is Lower than previous candle low but
2. Close in the upper half (current candle)
Bearish Divergent Candle: It is a two candle pattern where your current candle to the right has
1. Higher High than previous candle high.
2. Close in the lower half of the candle. (current candle)
Please read a bit more about this pattern here that I discussed earlier this year in this post. http://www.itradeaims.net/forum/viewtop ... =300#p9574" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
How to Trade The Fruit:
The Fruit is our Counter Trend / Reversal Entry Technique. When we believe that the trend/wave in a particular direction may be over, we may use The Fruit strategy to take a counter trend entry.
When do We Know The Wave may be at the top of bottom?
We can easily find that out by either one or combination of the following
1. Elliott Wave Count
Here I would recommend reading our 10sec to Elliott Wave eBook.
If you know how to count eWave using AIMS Wave or Snorms eWave then you know when to look for tops and bottoms. 2. Peak of AIMS Wave
Check if prices have been moving in one direction considerably and AIMS Wave is peaking or diverging. There are two kinds of divergence.
a. two diverging peaks within the save wave up or down before cross of zero line. b. two diverging peaks with a cross of zero line between the peaks. 3. Gator Lines and Rubber Band Principle
When prices move away from Gator lines, this usually indicates the end of a wave. We time reversal here. Pick Tops and Bottoms of Waves
Nearly All Waves have The Fruit at the top of the Wave. Not all but most of them do. Chopping The Fruit
The Fruit is a better mechanism during choppy, sideways, range bound markets. Often, when higher time frames waves top/bottom out, the lower time frames create waves that create things we know as follows:
a. sideways ranges
b. choppy up and down markets
c. consolidation
d. triangular patterns
e. Tight or Tall AIMS Boxes going sideways.
We can trade the top and bottom of the ranges using The Fruit Entry Mechanism. Since most waves end with The Fruit, handing off the branches at the top, this can save us some whiplashes.
Time Frames: We can use it on any time frame from Weekly, Daily, H1, H4 or even M15's. (H1 Preferred)
Money Management: We shall calculate our Lot Size using The High and Low of the BDC.
Buy Trade Entry Criteria:
Preferably Take Longs on Red Bars
Put PO 1 Pip + Spread above the High of the Bullish Fruit.
Buy Trade Stop Loss: Put Stop Loss 1 pip below the low of the Bullish Fruit.
Sell Trade Entry:
> Preferably Take Longs on Green Bars
Put Po 1 pip below Bearish Fruit.
Sell Trade Stop Loss:
Put SL 1 pip + spread above the High of Bearish Fruit
Putting it All Together
Now Lets put everything together to make the best use of our techniques and strategies.
The Three Types of Entry Mechansim
We now have 3 Strategies to make entries. We can choose any of the techniques or a combination or all of them.
1. Classic Entry (S1) - A technique to trade Breakout of a 5 X Higher Time Frame Trend.
2. The Seed - S1 of M5 on H1 A Trend Following Breakout Entry. We use this to take entries into a Trend on Current Time Frame. Which means entries in the direction of the Gator on current time frame. But don't forget, we are timing beautiful M15, M5 and/or M1 Setups without even the need to constantly watching those lower, faster, more demanding time frames. It does not matter if it appears inside or outside the BOX but it must be on the correct side of Gator.
3. The Fruit (Counter Trend Entry) - When the trends have matured or prices have moved too far too fast away from Gator lines we use The Fruit to reverse our entries. A Cool Trick About The Fruit - If the First One Fails, Do Take the Next One. It is because the first Fruit might have shown the peak of Wave 3 and the second one may show the peak of wave 5.

The FRUIT Concept and BDC Entries? Are they the same?
Yes and no. The Fruit is a concept of hitting the tops and bottoms of waves where as THE BDC is a candle formation we have chosen to use to make entries into the market. So remember this, first you decided whether its time to take reversal or not, and then you look for BDC. I do not recommend the opposite approach but most people do it that way. They see the signal and then they think whether to take it or not. My philosophy is you should know whether you want to trade this direction or not and then look for entry setup. Having said that, its a choice and really whatever works for you. We are all unique individuals and we must understand and always strive to understand who we are and so in doing so we would know exactly what works for us.
What are other uses of BDC? Can We use BDC for Trend Following as well?
I'm sure you've already read, but as explained in the BDC post, we can also use BDC for trend trading as well. Another Use of BDC is To Take Advantage of Princple C
(I have recently found that this PC is also known as The Gartley 222! in the market. I never knew this until May 2013
A Pattern that I found and now I know it was found almost 77 years ago haha)
Princple C and BDC are explained in the previous post. I will move the post here I guess.
Can I Use The Classic or V5.1 Colour Scheme or Template to Trade The Seed or The Fruit?
Can I Use The Mighty Powerful Purple on H1 Charts?
Ofcourse you can. It does not matter which colour or combination you have on your screen. It all depends on whether you understand the concept or not and more importantly whether you have the ability to apply your knowledge correctly.
Check the picture below.
I hope you enjoyed the read, and that it makes sense to you and help you become more successful and consistently profitable.

I had to do something about it. I had to make them trade with me in our live skype trading sessions. And finally one took charge of his account, trusted, believed and went for it. Moty, as he puts it in his words, "immy you held my hand and walked me through it to the other side of the road". I love the way he said it. Or may be he got it wrong. May be it was him helping me cross the road holding my hand like daddy. I am thankful to him. Moty you are one fine Gent.
Add-ons is the power of this strategy: Do not take it for granted. You must add on at least once. But just to highlight one more time. We do not want to go crazy with add ons but if you want to trade fruit ,and by all means you should, you must add one time after the fruit entry.
The win rate of fruit entry: The success rate of fruit entry is not that high, its below 50% but its really simple and easy to spot entry mechanism The add on compliments it.
Remember "Random Events Consistent Results". You may have 4 losers in a row and one winning campaign will cover all 4 rents and 4 times more profit as compared to the sum loss of the 4 losing trades. Do not let your mind think about rents. Just roll. The position size should be so small that you don't give a toss about it.
The Entry, Exit and Money Management is Simple: We don't have a flow chart of rules for this. All you need is the understanding of the angulation as explained in previous posts and then go for it. The next bit I want to talk about is money management. You can make insane amount of pips so it is important to switch your mind off of counting pips. Just trade the picture. If you're not too confident then just know it that if you stay on m5 you will be fine and it will be a lot easier. If you have a big winner and don't want to immediately turn it around into another campgain thats fine. Relax.
Higher Time Frames are More profitable and Easier to Manage: Kow it If you stay on m15 it will be even easier and if you stay on h1 with ONLY 4 pairs it will become even easier but it depends on your lifestyle as well. I like the m1 chart but Moty now prefers the m5 chart and frankly the m5 is much soothing than the m1. Pick your choice depending on your liking and not mine. There is no pressure. You should know wha'ts best for you. It works like a charm on any time frame you choose.
Extra Care is Required for Lower Time Frames: Keep in mind that the lower the time frame you trade the more volatility and lower spread you want just keep this in mind. The way Dax is moving on m1 these days, its awesome. But it may not always be like this. IF it changes, volatility drops, its ok, switch to m5 ,or swtich to currencies on m5. If you do not have dax or cannot afford trading it ,thats fine too. Simply trade any major currency on either m5 or m15 (no m1).
H1 is best but if you don't to trade h1 then m15 or m5 is best just keep an eye on H1 where its at in the wave.
Time Tip for H1: If you want to benefit from H1 fruits best fruits appear around frankfurt open. Often they will put you into a great wave ahead of others. Test this concept on your platform.
Elliott Wave: Elliott Wave helps but don't get too lost in wave count, in fact if you did not know waves it would be even better. So you can simply take singals as and when they appear without worrying too much about wave count. Repeating it again, we DONOT trade ellliott wave.
Split Screen and Multiple Time Frames and Template; You do not need to look for M5 trend or going against it with this strategy. You do not need to split your screen into two. You don't need purple or the dots or any other indicator. Just follow the clean template as mine. ewave/ao, gator/aims gator, box or no box. your choice and the V2.2 or v.2.4 indicator.
What about the Flow Chart S1/S2 Trades?: If you want to continue with your S1 and S1 flow chart trades you may do so but if you want to add the safest highest probability fruit indication to your S1/S2 repertoire then the best way is to add v2.4 with standard settings and it will give you fruit indictations that may get you into a new wave 5 before the s1 break. You may take v2.4 Adam's Apple signal and add on using S1 or simply take fruit and let it run and manage accordingly.
Trade Management:The trades are managed differently using Fruit since entry id against gator initially. So firstly the SL is on the other side of the fruit. and then you don't do anything with it until it crosses on the other side of gator. Thats when you keep an eye on the green line and if the price closes on green you may get out.
If you're using the V5.1 template you may then exit on black dot. If using the v.5.1 template you can apply the 5 green or red candle trail if you think price is obviously pulling away from green. The reason behind this is , e.g. you've got good profit or add ons and you think if it was to trun around and close on green that would mean giving back most of hte profit then you may want to protect that by choosing to trail candles. If using the proper Fruit tempalte you must be using the Seed V2.2 indicator that overlays red and green bars. Five reds and five greens is a useful exit or stop loss trailing mechanism specially when you're scared and price is not going through the gator or just going through it and you're unsure. Gradually you'll begin to trust it and you wont need to use this but initially you may. Just know it that using 5 bar trail may get you out prematurely at times. We should use green line more than any other way of getting out with profit. Be careful with trailing as it may result in getting out of beautiful strong trends too often.
Exit on Good Fruit with Angle or Reversing positions: If price does pull away and creates a strong Fruit counter to your positions yes, it would make sense not only to close your position but at times even close and reverse and trade in the other direciton. So its a bit like you've built one structure, completed and got paid for it and the work on the other structure begins right away.
Its a very powerful , simple and FRUITFUL strategy.
Its not your usual 10% a month strategy. Use this to double your account as and when you want it. The Power is YOURS
May the pips be with you!
Any questions shoot..
ps: be very ultra conservative with postion/lot size and aggressive with trades. TRADE SMALL TRADE OFTEN
pss: all of the above is explained with greater detail in the first post of this topic of Fruit. Please Please please study the text and pay extra attenition to the pictures. Those pictures will help you understand all aspects of trading the fruit.
psss: I forgot to mention that with fruit the add on is the first aims level available to the left from the near past. or a new one may be created after the entry. Check out the pictures in the trades above to see add on spot.

Re: The Seed and The Fruit
Multi Time Frame Analysis to Find Trad-able pairs.
We know that "Higher probability setups are breakouts in the direction of higher time frame trends"
There is a simple way to achieve this. Just like the M5/M1 Strategy we may look at D1 charts at night.
Scan through 10-15 charts and find the best trending charts. Make a short list of 4-6 max out of them.
During the day look for any type of entry, The Seed, The Fruit or Classic.
Take the Seed in the direction of the current and upper time frame trend
Take The Fruit at the top of waves you will get opportunities where you'd trade
a. against the current time frame trend and against the higher time frame trend
b. against current but in favour of higher time frame. e..g when D1 pulls back a candle or two, you may take a trade using fruit which may appear going against the H1 trend but it should drop/fly with more power because the path of least resistance on higher time frame is in that direction.
A counter trend entry on h1 if in the direction of Daily trend is more powerful.
Take Classic Breakout entry in the direction of daily trend. Always keep a picture in your head of the daily chart or just quick flick.... (flick hmmm)
more on this later.... the above is raw thought

Re: The Seed and The Fruit
Hi
I have decided to move The Fruit to a Separate Thread/Topic. There could be traders who want to trade The V5.1 only or The Seed only or The Fruit alone. So we now have 3 Strategies and we can choose any combination of it.
All Questions, Support Issues, Indicators and Templates and your trades and pictures etc should be posted in the respective threads. So if you've taken a Fruit Trade post it here otherwise use The Seed Thread.
cheers

Re: The Fruit - A Counter Trend Strategy
This picture below was a Fruit taken on the 22nd of May and later converted into a Daily Trade. It was not easy. I could have given back all of those 200 or sometimes even 300 pips back. but having taken over 2% from this position I had no worries. (I close part at a convenient spot) and then EJ did up and down 150 pips zags for 2 weeks. and now... its time to EAT THE FRUIT OF PATIENCE ---- The Fruit of Patience is always SWEET
