Re: How to Run MT4 on MAC?
My broker has these instructions: https://www.finfx.fi/en/installing-metatrader-4-mac-os
Never tried it but my friend is running metatrader on linux. It uses wine as well and should be about the same as running on mac.

Re: How to Run MT4 on MAC?
I run on Mac, Sam, and Think Forex provides a Mac friendly version of MT4. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before all brokers offer this same compatible version. Alternatively (and what I used to do) you can run VMWare or similar and have a virtual Windows on your Mac.
Hope that helps!

I run the MT4 with CrossOver. Works pretty good. the only annoying thing is that you can't double click the fib tool and change it or delete it. You always have to go to objects and look for it.

Re: How to Run MT4 on MAC?
I'm on Mac, and best is to have windows on a bootcamp partition.
depending on the age of your macbook, you can install win7 easy,
either with external/internal dvd (old macbooks, my case also)
or usb stick (new macbooks)
The most general basic steps are:
1. create bootcamp partition
2. install refind (best boot manager)
3. put win7 iso on dvd or usb stick
4. restart mac and install win7
BUT, beware!
keep the systems separate, keep files read only from each OS's perspective
each OS with its own business, when it comes to writing and deleting files, don't mix it
by default, it's read only anyway (if things didn't change meantime since i tinkered with bootcamp and win7
what destroyed several win7 installation in my case, was my desire to install drivers to permit cross writes between OS's
keeping default state, read only, gives stability
drivers are shit
they will mess partition info, and you will have unbootable win7 (although accessible from mac, readonly)
=> keep win7 and mac separate, readonly => stability
---
other possibility is parallels desktop, but it's very quirky, and unreliable i found
crossover or this type of installation, wierd quirks, many times, and little limitations here and there
best is win7 on bootcamp, hands down

Re: How to Run MT4 on MAC?
I use windows MT4 version on my macbook. This can be achieved through a very famous software called wine bottler. In fact, it can be used to run any .exe file on mac, as it creates a virtual windows C drive to install programs and run them effortlessly.

Re: How to Run MT4 on MAC?
I was a big mac fan; changed to PC once realized mac and trading MT4 dont go well
If you use other platforms like TradeStation, TradingStation from FXCM, any other non-MT4 ones, mac is good.
I used parallels desktop in mac to run windows. then had a moment that, if I am using windows, then stick to PC.
another workaround is, use VPS. you can login from any device and control that MT4 instance.
