Re: BW MFI.ex4 Error in Log File
It was not my intention to discourage anyone, feel free to explore the entire forum, just trying to help in this case since its related to old setup indicators outdated due to newer versions.

I guess you mean a custom chart with every candle is 8 hours of time? Haven't heard anyone trading that. But still it shouldn't matter much as the market is having a structure that can be scaled across the different timeframes. For example I have 12 seconds chart open and you can see market structure there in the same way as in weekly chart. In that sense H8 could be just as good as every other timeframe. But I would say it would be safest to take one of the standard timeframes like H1 and H4 and stick to those. That is because there are more traders using those timeframes and also technically all indicators and trading platforms work for those. Just a personal opinion..baldeagle wrote:Have you tried trading the H8's?
If you meant by H8 something else.....i'll just crawl back to the cave and be silent

I was wondering which indicator you use for the dots, because in your journal I can see that you using a dot indicator. I am currently using AIMS Entry Alert V5.3 http://www.itradeaims.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=962. I thought V6 beta was a newer version http://www.itradeaims.net/forum/viewtop ... f=34&t=841. For some time i was using a 5.2 version wich was provided by SNORM ewave indicator. So what indicator do you use.acceleratum wrote:It was not my intention to discourage anyone, feel free to explore the entire forum, just trying to help in this case since its related to old setup indicators outdated due to newer versions.
Trading is a pattern recognition game. As traders we make decisions in an uncertain environment. Anything can happen. We trade the setups with the highest probility and reflect on our trades in samplesizes of 20. It is our job to keep our mind(s) focused, relaxed, enjoyed and to trust ourself in the proces of staying diciplined to our trading plan. We plan our trade and then trade our plan.

Pedro,
Thanks for the clarification. I think you bring up an important point. How do we know which are the most current indicators and which ones have problems? I thought the double arrow indicator (AIMS Setup 1 Version 2 Advanced ?) was more likely to produce a winning trade? Then I ran into problems and thanks to arjan I was able to find BWMFI indicator and stop the circular calls.
I also note on your journal that there is some kind of circles appearing on your charts. I have seen this on other charts . Is this a new update of the fruit or seed template?

Re: BW MFI.ex4 Error in Log File
Tomi,
Thanks for the offer of help. This is one of the reasons that AIMS is so great. We have a bottomless pit of information with so many members that will help us climb out that pit!
Yes, I am trying to trade the 8 hour charts using a period converter. I am still trying to figure out how to handle overnite movements when your markets open while I am sleeping. I think a trade manager is the way to go. Any suggestions?

Re: BW MFI.ex4 Error in Log File
It depends on how your trade manager handles the trades. If your EA uses standard timeframes you have to configure it to H1 or H4 I guess. Check your EA how it works on custom charts. Make a study and see what approach works the best. I think we don't have exact answers here as H8 is a special timeframe.baldeagle wrote:I think a trade manager is the way to go.

Ed how did you find the bwmfi indicator. I know it is standard in mt4 but what did you do to stop the error message.baldeagle wrote:Pedro,

Ps circles are updates from fruit and seeds. But they are only available on the hunt session. Which i unfortunalutly am not a member yet

Re: BW MFI.ex4 Error in Log File
Pedro,
I could not find where MT4 V600+ was hiding the Bill Williams indicators in the file list, so I copied the exact form of the indicator (something like bw mfi.ex4) that was being called and not found and causing the circular error . I then did a google search and download the indicator into the Custom indicator list and the problem went away. I am guessing that AIMS Setup 1 V2 Advanced could not find where MT4 V600+ had hidden the original mfi indicator either!
