I use IGIndex for a lot of my higher timeframe trading. Up until recently IG were the only way of having a good spread betting account here in England, however, Alpari now do one directly for MT4 which I am using for Aims (SML have one but I found it to be unsatisfactory).

The problem I see with using a different broker to your MT4 charts is the speed in which you have to make the trades, move SL and get out. The data feed between brokers can be such that when you are taking a trade with MT4 your $$$ broker can be 2 or 3 pips diferent. This can make a huge difference when scalping, on a higher timeframe where you are getting 100 + pips in a trade this small difference doesn't matter as much.

Thanks Richard I have an account with IG but didnt fund it due to the recent expose. Not for me to decry any broker but I got in touch with the website owner on indexarecheats dot com ( will scare you what ex emplyees say ) and refrained. I have had trouble with several bucketshop MT4's when making good trades ( normally when making market orders ) however they can freeze you up if you are doing well hence use them for the signals and trade on another outfit thats why I asked.

Seems Alpari is respectable but I will not place a large sum into mt4. Im thinking of linking several accounts with smaller amounts.

Im grateful for any advices and help as this is my main worry for when I go for it.

Dennis

I have found that over the 2 years I have been with IG the requotes I have has grown steadily to a point that I am looking to change. Ironically my wife has an account with them and has no problem. I have recently reduced my capital with them to £10k and at the end of every month take out money to keep it at that level.

For my higher time frame trades I am looking at a different spread betting broker, however, for Aims I am looking at using Alpari when I go live as I believe it will be a lot easier trading from the charts themselves rather that trying to juggle between the two.

Hi guys

I was with ETX when I first started trading, I now use Alpari for trading AIMS, I would say it is much easier and quicker to trade off the MT4 chart directly especially using the VE "expert" to manage the trades.

My experience of Alpari is that they are very good with orders, their spread does vary at peak times like news releases and overnight but this is pretty normal. One thing to watch is if you are trying to close live I have noticed some requotes if price is moving quickly.

One last thing I trade with a couple of fellow traders on skype most of the time and we do get different levels and setups from our charts, so I think when trading aims its important to be trading with the same broker that your charts are on. IMHO

Cheers

I too trade with Alpari and was getting a lot of requotes, but that seems to have changed lately. Not sure why. I too am happy with them.

I have been using FXCM. They do have an MT4 platform but I trade with their Trading Station (this is not Trade Station) platform as it is so much more user friendly than MT4. I use MT4 charting with a demo broker for the AIMS indicators, but Trading Station for the actual trades. Yes, I do use multiple monitors.

I use Saxobank as broker and the platform SaxoTrader, because they do not accept the MT4 platform. With SaxoBank so far, I trade all kinds of things, such as Forex, CFDs, stocks, Commodities, Index, options ... Also, for forex I use a demo account with MT4 as monitoring, it worked pretty well so far because I trade high time frames, but when trading 1 min, one must be very fast and a few pips can make a difference. I think open an account for the forex with FXCM or Alpari. To see. I still hesitate.
