Hi AIMsters,

I am Alina and recently joined AIMS after dusting off the cover of Trading Chaos, which I started to implement many years ago, and googling to see if people were still using Bill Williams' systems in today's markets.

I am based in Melbourne Australia and am just new to trading Forex. I have been dabbling in the Crypto market and as I worked my way through the setup 1 indicators have been coding them for Tradingview. However in watching Immy's videos, the Forex charts look a lot smoother!

So far I have read the Setup 1 book several times, worked my way through the Baby Pips course and downloaded a Pepperstone Demo account and added the indicators. Working my way around the software now.

Which broker do the Aus traders tend to use?

Next step will be my Trading Plan.

Hi Alina

Congratulations on starting your journal. If you keep it up, in months to come you will find success and that would be largely because of keeping a T20 Journal. Technical Analysis does not make trader's successful. Its actually the ability to remain disciplined.

And Pepperstone is my choice...

It's been a slower start than hoped to this trading process, but I put on a trade on AUDNZD 5 minute in a demo account today.

I believe that I read the setup 1 correctly, still need to get a handle on money management and stop movements.

Outcome was being stopped out by a wick down. Loss of $8.66 then market went in the direction of my original trade. I have put in a TP and SL as I could not watch the market, otherwise I may have seen the next blue dot and reset the trade or just watched it take off!

It's kind of hard to see the trade marks on my chart as I did not take a screenshot at setup and I haven't mastered writing on charts yet. Every day something to learn!

Trade 2 AUDJPY, M5
Took entry based on: Alligator closed, Blue Dot, Purple line under Alligator (although not outside box)
Stop loss: below box 3.5 pips, Trailing below box
Initial Take Profit: 2R, but changed it because I was watching it! Market spiked down and hit my trailing box stop before heading back up again. Small Loss taken instead of 2R profit.

I have continued trading the batch watching the following markets:
EURUSD M5
EURAUD M5 or M30
AUDNZD M5
AUS200 M30
HK50, M5
GER, M5

and have implemented the following rules
1. Using Setup 1 only
2. TZ1 must be within 2R
3. Set take profit line and be happy with result
4. Money management: Only trading on 0.1 contracts for Currency trades and 1 for Index Trades to keep the money factor out of my psychology.
Trading thus far has been in a demo account.

5. Comments and Feelings at the Time of Taking The Trade: There had been a big wave 3 and AO had crossed the zero line. Market was flat for a while with alligator intertwined
6.Comments and Trades After Exiting the Trade: Got stopped out as the market hadn't retraced enough. It eventually did a wave 5, but no Setup 1 entry at that point (plus it was in the middle of my night!)

5. Comments and Feelings at the Time of Taking The Trade: Had a sharp wave 3 up and had retraced and consolidated. I felt nervous putting it on as had had 4 losses in a row to start my batch
6.Comments and Trades After Exiting the Trade: Hooray, my first win - I know we are celebrating following rules, but a win is nice! I trailed my stop on this trade under the boxes as there was a sharper move up at first. The market did not reach my TP, so I gained the maximum I could for this trade.

5. Comments and Feelings at the Time of Taking The Trade: Starting to feel a little more comfortable with identification of waves. There had been a strong wave 3 and then consolidation. When the blue dot appeared I put on a trade.
6.Comments and Trades After Exiting the Trade: My first TP hit - a bit exciting. It was also very close to the top of the run.

5. Comments and Feelings at the Time of Taking The Trade: There had been a sharp move down forming a wave 3, but it was at the end of a long run down, so was not feeling 100% about its validity.
6.Comments and Trades After Exiting the Trade: It missed my TP by a small margin and that was the bottom of the run. I moved my stop down above the longer red candles and it was just passed breakeven.
