Trade Number: Batch 4 Trade 10

2. Date/Time: 23/2-2021 8:24
 3. Symbol/TF: GER30/ M1

4. Signal Type / Direction :  Pullback short

5. Questions Before Trade is Taken:
a) How do I feel before setting the order?  Happy to see a pullback that fits my rules.
b) Intuitive Signal? My intuition was neutral this time
c) Is this technically The Setup ? yes, it was the first pullback after the breakout, so perfect.

6. Post Trade Questions:
a) How Do I feel after closing the trade?  Good
b) Have I done well and why? yes, i traded the pullback and did not intervened.
c) Have done badly and Why?

d) What Could I have done differently? nothing. But for the future, i could have had a bigger target, because this move just flew away.

7. DS For this Trade:  1

filtered trade

Unread post by eaxh »

The Lo was moving but no setup for me..

Then a S1 came on M1.

Technically, the S1 on m1 was okey, i could have put the SL under the gator to minimize the SL.
And on the M5 is was an okey pullback, but i didnt liked the extended chart on M5.

from a second glance a see that the last wave wasnt complete when the S1 was there.
it's always easy to be hindsight.

Its not fun to se a filtered trade go to away...

and yes, this is me overanalyzing....  :-

I am so focused on m5, where it is in the wave. For trading S1 on m1 that´s crucial of course.
But when trading pullbacks on m1(S1´s on s12), do i need to put that in mind, or just go with direction and momentum there and then.
And ofcourse, have the levels on m5 in mind.

Because when m5 retraces deep, the m1 pullbacks could be really good. or is that just playing with no edge?
Or is it okay to do so when i see a complete wavesequence on m5 and a reversal is more likely to happen.

This is something i still struggle with.

Hi Emma

That's a  good question. If you're trading the M1 Pullbacks that is of course the s12 setup 1s, assuming you won't be looking at s12 for confirmation, you will continue to do it e xactly the same way as before. Just like you looked at M5 for M1 setup using M5/M1 layout. The only difference here is that when you see a pullback on m1 you would want the M5 to be already out of RANGE and either within its Wave 5 or Within its Wave 3. I like to see my M5 chart doing green candles for bullish trades. hope this makes sense

cheers

I can see why you'd have filtered it. The M5 does not look so great. It's ok. But remember, LO provides a spot in time with a higher chance of volatility and movement

6. Post Trade Questions:
a) How Do I feel after closing the trade?  this was a hard one to watch. It was one of those setups that i did not have a god feeling about.
 b) Have I done well and why? yes, i traded the setup and did not intervened.
 c) Have done badly and Why? I traded against the LO

d) What Could I have done differently? not sure. On m5 it had crossed the purple so the setup is valid. But there is something that makes me doubt the setup. i cannot trade on my intuition. the setup was there. so i am a little confused.

thoughts half way into batch 4

Unread post by eaxh »

With each step of this journey, one thing becomes easier and clearer while other things become more complex and difficult to understand.
I am sure these are questions that I will get answers to in time. But the road there is sometimes frustrating.

I find myself an extremely picky when it comes to setups. So far, it's paid off profitwise.
But by not taking certain trades, I also think I'm missing out on insights and learning experience that would have gotten if I'd taken them.

For example the previous trade.

Maybe i should just say NEXT, but i want to learn from this one.

I want to investigate what gave me the bad feeling about the trade.
Was it from me being insecure or was it because it wasn´t a good trade?

Hi

The fundamental FLAW in this trade was the lack of one important awareness.

The Trade took place Between the Pre-Market Session of the New York (US) session.

The Open is a point int time/space that I call The CIP - Chaos Influx Point and Chaos, as in the Science of Chaos means, "new incoming information". New Orders flood the market at the market open. Those new orders i.e. New Incoming information i.e. Chaos decides the fate of the minutes and hours that follow. That is why I keep a LINE at the London Open ... I use that line where I keep my Ship docked... and i measure how far  I (price) go from that point ... up or down...
This trade took place 10 minutes before the point in time/space where I  Draw the line :) some times it will work though... most of the time, why not take advantage of the CIP at NEO!!! (word of warning.. NEO and LO are VERY DIFFERENT Beasts... IT might be the same chart, but oh no no ... the underlying structure of DAX at LO as WAY WAY different than at NEO!!! moreover, DAX at NEO moves as a reaction to what the BOSSES (i.e. US30, US500, US100) does... The variables are too dirty and many.... I have ALWAYS stayed away from US Session...

my 2 cents

Ps: this trade would have earned you a nice juicy fat DS1... during stage 1... and you can DS1 it even now... but for me, I'd not give myself a DS0. Because the ground basics of the trading the market and the relevant strategy to tackle it, was either not understood or ignored.

Hello!

That is precisely what I mean when I say that it is getting easier and more difficult at the same time.

But I'll get through this too :)
I understand and it was a dumb mistake that could have been avoided...

Thanks for the thorough explanation and a juicy fat thank you for pointing it out!! :) :D
