It felt easy today. I was objective.

Today the market was in a narrow range at the open.
A breakout trade here would absolutley have been a valid trade for LOBOT.
Made a pullback (line 1) with a bounce on previous support AND made a seed.
But being strict with my rules i did not enter. I want 3 candle pullbacks for this batch.

Later it did another clean pullback, but i did not like the first bullish candle.
And it also was inside the gator. I am not really sure what to do when that happens..
Changed it to take a look with the lobot template. CLEARER and a good pullpack.
The 1st candle was still a little large, but a totally valid pullback.
there and then i was thinking. If the candle witch the red dot was happen to be a seed or cherry, i would be interested.

Then i waited for a S1, but the m5 was inside levels so i felt that i had to be cautious but with an open mind.

The s1 within a moving market is a powerful pattern.

Did not happen.

It retraced back to the area where the 1st pullback took place.

i did 2R on GBPUSD this morning so i did not feel the urge to trade. but if a 3 candle pullback would have shown up i would have traded it.

Placed the sl under the cherrycandle just to be more safe.
It hit tp fast.

Today it was not much action going on.

I was ready to pull the trigger at the red line, but wasnt as quick as i had to be.
It would have been rent.

i stayed and watch and stayed out when there is no edge.

This morning I felt out of focus.
At the same time, I have my knowledge and my rules to relate to.
So I still feel like I can be objective.

What I see: A bull rally up yesterday followed by a very clear and narrow one.

The opening test overnight lows. Moving slowly downwards and I'm ready to take a pullback.
At the red line I was waiting for some more candels so I can take my pullback.

In retrospect, I notice how blind I was today.
The most important thing was missing, MOMENTUM. Thank you to Immy, who pointed that out.

This morning I had an aha moment. i can not trade without my head clear.

Solution to try : Take a walk everyday so i can be focused!.

4. Signal Type / Direction :  S1 long

5. Questions Before Trade is Taken:
a) How do I feel before setting the order?  A little unsure.
b) Intuitive Signal? Moore iffy than good.
c) Is this technically The Setup ?  yes, i is a setup 1. Have no idea what happened to the dot.. it was there. Tight box, perfect sleeping gator. Not a very clean pullback on m5. But i will never catch a good move if i hesitate.
I was ready to move sl to be at the peak of wave 3, due to the candles on m5 that created the peak looked a little bearish to me.

6. Post Trade Questions:
a) How Do I feel after closing the trade? good
b) Have I done well and why?  Yes. Because i traded the setup. And i managed it due to my new managing guidelines. As it closed below the green line i was out with 0.5 R.
c) Have done badly and Why?
d) What Could I have done differently?

Keeping a journal is such a Powerful thing... It helps so much. And Reading each other's journals, even more fun.

You observed something really powerful here. Apart from the momentum comment, the fact that you realised that we as traders are required to perform at our peak. So we must look after our health, our intake of food and mental health.
I have this huge issue that I am not a morning person. The only time during the day that I don't feel like talking is between 7am to 10am. I am grumpy. The older I get the more grumpy I am getting around those times. But the rest of the day I'm fine. I trade US sessions better at times because I am alive and awake. I have noticed that when I sleep less and I am scared I might miss the morning session, I get up earlier and am even more acutely aware and conscious. But then I pay the price over the weekend. I'm tired and exhausted.

I am seeing the making of a great day trader... keep at it..

Great points emma...  :bow

i could have been that one that moved like a rocket.
I had one concern, the candels on m5 did not gave me the best feeling. But what i saw on m1 made me take it.

I can not ONLY take signals that make me feel good. I cannot be looking for THE PERFECT SETUP. There is none.

REVIEW BATCH 4

Unread post by eaxh »

Result: 8,5% AWESOME
DS score: 95% AWESOME

Batch 4.xlsx
Very incoherent evaluation but here it comes.

It took just over a month to complete this batch.
The result in both profits and discipline score makes me happy.I'm on the right track.

During this batch, I have had an ever-nagging worry about not doing the right thing.
My probabilistic thinking is in waves, like everything in life.
I have still been able to keep my fingers in check despite what my thoughts and concerns have said.
I've stuck to my rules and on the whole I'm very disciplined.

I have also noticed that the times I am unsure are under the conditions in the market that I have not yet encountered and may therefore not know how that particular situation stands in relation to my rules.
I have also noticed that the setups for which I have a good or neutral feeling are the ones that give the highest probability.
 For the upcoming batch,

I will do my best trust myself more and listen to my gut feeling.
Why do I have it? Is here something I'm missing? And therefore…

 -          Only trade when I'm reasonably stable in my psyche.

I am the kind of person who is high and low, here and there, my brain is ALWAYS on high speed or not at all... and it is a constant challenge to filter out what makes sense in the moment.

But all in all this batch has given me the feeling that I am well on my way.

I have also found out that i love the pullback setups. It is less information to take in and still i am trading the same wave.

As much as i like the clarity that the setup 1 template gives for the setup 1, it is blurring for me when it comes to the pullbacksetups.

I will try this coming batch to trade on the lobot template and ewave. the wave  will i use mainly to not trade when the m5 it too extended.

I will also update some rules, make them a little looser and stricter on the same time.
Will put more weight on how the market feels in mometum and volatility and less weight on the  small details.

When i am not in a good mood to trade i find myself with a tunnel vision and not in a state where i can see the whole picture clear.
Wich resault in filtering some really good ones and taking shitty ones because they look soooo good.

One thing that have helped me when i feel confused is to remember why i am doing this.
The main reason is that i want freedom to do whatewer i want with my time.

Today i started by marking important levels and waited for the open.

The first candle broke down with momentum. Followed by a waltz seed (line 1) i was interested in.
Did not trigger.

Went up to LO and went right down again but stoped at the same level.
Eventually it broke the level and pulled back (line 2), but at that time the AO har 3 peaks so i was not superkeen to take it. Would have been BE.

Then i waited for a S1, wich did not arrive. Was a S0 so i waited for the breakout so i could catch a pullback on the way down  (line 3). Did not happen. Today i felt like i had the focus back again. I was objective and was thinking clear. So thats the story of this morning.
