D1, H1 and M5 in range.

Which means be very cautious. i saw the setups instead and traded them.
I have a hard time desciding if i was trading very bad today or if i feel very bad for loosing....
I see that the context are not the best, but are the trades terrible or just not the best?

It feels like i am in stage 1 again. I know i will have ups and downs. And right now i am down.
I have lost the discipline in "Context first, then the setup". I am more "Ooh that setups looks good so just give it a try". :no

I will get back on track.

Today i took the am off to hang with the kids and decided to trade us session instead.

I looked at the overall market.
Us30 in a range near the ATH. At this point i would have  had a short bias. But on m5 there was a level below as well to be aware of.
But i just saw the setups and took them. They are both valid signals, but i shlould have filtered them based on the context.'

Nasdaq was in an uptrend on D1, H1 sideways and M5 in a range. There were room for trades to both sides in the range.
I missed the neobot on that one. should have gone long above the candle pointed out. should have been 2R.

Tomorrow is the last day of the month and i will trade my sweet dax. Disciplined as a donkey.

because h1 was in a range i wanted it to break the lower level that i had drawn.
It did that quick. Then as the price paused a was a little iffy as the wicks were all in the bottom. i did not get a clean pullback to put an order below. But then when the seed came i thought that this is my chance to get in. I am very happy that i did. at the end of the candle at the arrow i placed sl to be.
I trailed 10 ema until i saw 5 consecutive candles. got out with candletrail.

When that trade was done i left.

Another trade to Print and laminate.
we traded it live minute by minute together (even I got out earlier lol). it was fun.

Although I do have to point out.

Our trade plans should not be focused on these type of trades. IT should "NOT" be the ultimate goal of our trading plan or session to catch these trades only. They look beautiful and they have a massive big addition to the profit total but we must realise that these type of runs are the "outliers". Trading plans focused to catch big big moves will suffer in the longer term.

When you look for a trading edge and quantify data, you're supposed to extract the outliers and treat them differently.
In short, the base hits, KC123 1R and 1.5R and the occasional 2R trades are the ones that grow our accounts consistently.

Great Trade keep it up!!!

I have been thinking about that too, but I don't know when to take profits at the outer band and when to trail 10 ema. I like it cause it is a clear rule to follow. But it also gives me small small winners or even be when I could have taken 1 or 1,5 R at the outer band or a little more.

when the signal is at 20 ema, the outher band is a very good target. And then when its not its a very bad target. Hmm i don't know.

The thing is.. when I have 2 different kinds of managing i vill analyse the s**t out of everything and most probably fall asleep when London session is over.

I think I will have the answer shortly as my brain now is on full speed to find a solution.

I have to APOLOGISE Big time. I missed a very important word. It flipped the meaning of my message...

I wanted to say, it SHOULD NOT be the ultimate goal of our trade plan to catch these big winners.

The goal is to keep hitting base hits.

Keep hitting those 1, 1.5 and 2R trades. when the big ones come and you have the tenacity to stay in and let it run... then good, why not. But should not be the main objective of our daily trade plan.

I hope you did get the message correctly right?

cheers

I took the long there too. I even added to it on the pc. but did not work. I took knew well in advance that there were trading levels I could extract from h1 levels. And I had them on chart. But I took the executive decision and went long. Did not work. Reversed it and recouped some of the losses. Overall losing US session.

tomorrow is another day!!!

Weekbatch 11 friday 2021-07-30 THE END

Unread post by eaxh »

This is the end of a very special week.

D1 Sideways
H1 Sideways tradeble range
M5 mild mild downtrend

10:00 german orange news

Before this session i wrote something down that i forget sometimes. (I have it in my head but my memory is letting me down)
To decide in advance when its okey to look for setups. what i want it do before i trade.
Will continue to write that down from now on.

At 10:07 the level i looked out for on h1 was broken.
(TRADE8) I waited patiently for a poke and then a confirmation near the midline. It came slightly late in the wave so i was cautious. when the price was touching the lower band i placed sl to be. seemed to be a good desicion.

After that i waited some more.

At 11:03 i had my second and last trade this morning. (TRADE 9)
Loodked rally good. It made 5 consecutive candles right away so i hit candletrail. Got me out with a small winner. A very good trade.
What it did after is irrelevant. why? Because i didi EXACTLY as i planned.
Fredag trades 8 och 9.png

Fredag 2021-07-30.png

Week summary
Profit -0,46% (not satisfied by this, but it happens)
Winrate 33% ( problem here lays in the context, the setups were valid. that is why the Ds score is so high)
Ds score 89%

I have discoverd some things this week.
I am kind of good in seeing which setups that is good based on how it looks ( the look and symmetry of the pullback)
What i need to work more on is the context.
In the start fo every day i have the levels and range, but when trading i sometimes get tunnel vision in the setup.

I will do a more detailed analysis in the monthly review.

Au revoir

Todays analysis
D1 Range
H1 Range Tradeble
M5 Slightly up, might have entered a tradingrange.

What has to happen for a trade to be okey
If goes up = have to clear the closest H1 level. Be aware of the level above it as well
If it goes down = Tall box on M5, be cautious before it has cleared that

Orange german news at 10:55 market time

I have thought alot of the filters that Kc have. Dont trade in a range and dont trade after a climatic move. Today i was very disciplined!
I did not trade due to the filters.
I will start to note the ones i filter as well to have records of them.

Arrow 1 = Filtered due to being inside the range on m5
Arrow 2 = Filtered due to the climatic move before it
Arrow 3 = Filtered due to the climatic move before it
Arrow 4 = It was late in wave and not a good place on m5 to take it( free bars on m5 so a snapback could happen quick)

D1 range
H1 range, counted it as tradeble
M5 range

I wrote that because of everything in a range but m1 i should be very careful.
Had a tall box on m5. wanted it to break it before looking for an entry. I forgot or i did not think about m5 being in a range. I would NEVER have taken this setup before. If M5 was in a range i sat on my hands. I should still do that.

Today i had a little aha moment. only after a year or so.....
That i should have a trending market on m5. It´s so freaking obvious. I have known that for day one, but i have overlooked it because some setup looks soo good.

I am progressing in my thought process. One little thing at a time.

I took the most ugly setup today. Still valid in its raw format but rubbish. Just rubbish.

I filtered the other ones markt with arrows but not the one i traded. it just doesnt make sense to me.
But it clearly woke me up and i am thankful for that.

It it very simple to find something that works. To make it work its a completely different thing.
I have my filters for a reason. But to have the ability to under pressure understand when to use the filters take time to learn.

AMAZING DAY FOR LEARNING! And no one is happier than me for that :)

Today D1 and H1 was still in the same range as previous days. Big enough to trade inside it. But not near the egdes.
M5 had broken out of its own range and was in a breakoutphase to the upside during premarket.

No relevant news for dax.

Today was easy peasy lemon squeezy

It was very easy to have a po above the boxes on m1.Classic S1 that became a Lobot trade. It was a good setup. I give it the score 8. The one thing missing for a superb one is that it was in a range on H1. Besides that is was super.
I trailed the 10ema. Closed below twice but i survived through them and then it flew up and made about 5 candles in consecutive order so i hit candle trail and got out according to plan.

Because it is summer i left after that.

Hi Emma

I was looking forward to seeing this trade. I don't know if there are enough readers here but for the few that are out there, I don't know if they realise how powerful it is to actually read your journal. It's delightful to watch and read. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful Trade, right at the open. I admire your tenacity for staying through that rubbish pullback. It was hard for me. I had exited once, then got back in, and again.

cheers
