Multiple monitors

Unread post by JohnGalt »

This is probably a silly question :-s .

I have two monitors with the extended mode. How to detach a graph and move it the other monitor in order to have one monitor with the 1 min. graph and the other with the 5 min. graph.?

I can do it on my current platform SaxoTrader, but I have little experience with MT4. Can someone help me ? I appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jean

HI John,

I think you will have to down load a 2nd mt4 platform so you can have a platform on each screen...

hope this helps

Thanks Grant,

I had already thought of this solution and it works. I wanted to know if there was a way to do it by loading only one platform, otherwise I'd like that.

The only way i know of to have one MT4 account on same PC with 2 monitors is to create exact copy complete of your existing MT4 broker folder, call it ....mt4-broker2... on the 2nd folder and shortcut. It is called running multiple instance of MT4. I use it like that.

Then you start MT4 from both shortcuts and log in on the same account.
On each version you will see/access the 1 account.

Remember, same multiple order managers will still interfere with each other on the account.

NOTE: Make backups and be sure u know what you are doing before doing it!!! x_x

Herbert, thank you very much for your learned response.

This seems to actually be a good solution. I'll try to do. I'm not sure I understtod everything, firstly because I'm pretty dummy on computer (strongly "MT4 for dummies") and also my English is quite poor. But I'll try. I just hope I'm not going to disrupt everything! x_x

We'll see ...

Hi Jean

you should be a able to stretch your Metatrader program window over the 2 screens, then arrange your charts without any trouble. I have just the one Metatrader and 5 screens (and too many charts) working from a single profile.

cheers
