Thanks Steve. Looks more like this is just Steve's way of giving us his birth-year (1954) and his monthly +pip count average (8367). :))

Bettina's Journal

Unread post by Bettina »

Hi Herbert,

the very, very last post on this and only for people which are thinking in subroutines:
See pic.
Examples are in my first two pictures in the post of yesterday.
In both you can see dots without arrows, though all of the aligator lines had crossed, looking at it like a trader.
Second perhaps had no sleeping condition - don't now, what the condition is.

Sh....now I missed the EU trade, did Murphy remove the holiday ??????

Bettina, just a quick check to help me digest this. in what u said now, u referring to previous GU chart where no arrow was present at dots? Where-as you placed the two arrows where you consider they should be. Correct?

From V6 thread:
Arrow shows an entry where Alligator, on current time frame, was recently sleeping (within last 20 bars is the default option, but that can be changed in the settings) and Alligator on the next time frame is awake - essentially a Setup 1.
Just eye-balling your charts i see the following with regards to your red expected arrow:
1. V6 looks back at 20 bars default on 1min timeframe to see recent alli asleep, yes, alli was asleep (lime and red cross within 20 bars)

2. Alli on 5min awake = ??? What is criteria for awake in code? lime/red/blue in correct order...? assume yes.

I do not know the full logic of code, so i assume an arrow will only appear on a corresponding dot.
So lets shift above 2 points forward to the next blue dot after your red arrow.

1. lime/red crossed lookback 20 candles = YES.
2. 5min lime/red/blue correct order over fwd shifted 8 bars inclusive= YES.
lime/red check 3 bars ahead? Visually very close to each other..... assumption = NO

NO ARROW.
Same with previous blue dot (lime/red level/close)

In my opinion, dot logic is black and white, close over or not. Alli angle and separation (i assume) open to code parameters..... i would think that is why we have a beta version as this curve fitting via code can have many permutations.

Hope i understood you correctly and that I HAVE IT CORRECTLY :))

Oh, oh, world of misunderstanding :

My indicator " arrow above/below crossed square " shows the crossing of the M5 alligator lines printed into M1 exactly at the time, when you can see them in m5.

lime arrow above red square: : M5 teeth ( lime ) have crossed M5 lips ( red ) from below.
lime arrow above blue square: : M5 teeth ( lime ) have crossed M5 jaws ( blue ) from below.
red arrow above blue square: : M5 lips ( red ) have crossed M5 jaws ( blue ) from below.

When all of the threee possible crosses have occured into one direction ( one after the other or at the same time ) , the alligator is open.

I don't do anything on dots.

The big Snagit arrow shows, where I would expect a blue arrow up.

ok, No misunderstanding after all. Yes, 5min alli is open and red arrowed candle/blue dot is the closest to allow arrow, m1 may be considered asleep at the time. V6 arrows only appear at dot candles, so that is the only window available to pass the V6 arrow test (i assume not test and placement of arrow backward). As said, 1min lime/red 3 bars shifted forward is in question to finally qualify the arrow.

At the time, the lime live value may have been on or fractionally below red, being a 5 period smma, only to raise after next candle's after blue dot, window now closed for arrow.

Hello Bettina and Herbert, having a nice chat about arrow logic :D

These discussions would probably be better off in the Alert 6 Beta part of the Premium Section, so please feel free to continue in there, if you have the desire to. I wouldn't want your nice journal being cluttered with non-journal, Bettina (though it is your journal, so you can post what you want in it, at the end of the day).

Any thoughts/suggestions/observations etc are very welcome - the Beta version has been released for that very reason. I am working on the final version (or next Beta release) whenever I get a few spare moments, which isn't too often these days, so what you see on the current version may not be the same on the next version.

Cheers
Steve
